PlotNShip Weekly #3: the $26/month online ordering stack and this week's AI tool price news

A stack for taking food orders without paying a commission on every one, two more stacks you can copy, and a quieter week for prices. This is issue #3.

This week's stack: a $26/month online ordering app

Cafes, restaurants and food stalls: let customers order and pay for pickup on your own site, with a live order screen for the kitchen.

Total: about $26/mo plus Stripe fees, including a domain. Start with pickup only, because delivery adds drivers, zones and fees. Full breakdown and starter prompt: best AI stack for an online ordering app.

AI tool prices: what changed this week

We re-checked all 25 tools on their official pricing pages. No headline monthly price moved since last week, but a few things are worth knowing:

  1. Bolt closed its $9/mo Lite plan to new sign-ups on 14 Oct 2026. Existing Lite users keep it. Bolt's annual billing works out cheaper: Pro is $25/mo, or $18/mo billed annually, and Teams is $30 per member, or $27 billed annually.
  2. v0's paid plan is called Plus: $30 per user per month, including $30 of monthly credits. The free plan is still $0 with 7 messages a day, and Business is $100 per user per month.
  3. Bubble's higher Starter Web price is now in effect (since 20 Oct 2026): $39/mo billed monthly or $32/mo billed annually.
  4. Vercel launched a Token Pass in early access for Pro teams: $30/mo buys $80 of monthly credit for the GLM 5.3 and Kimi K3 AI models. Most first-time builders can ignore this; the Vercel Hobby (free) plan is still for non-commercial sites only.
  5. Coming later: Cloudflare Workers Logs move to its Observability pricing from 1 Dec 2026, and Clerk's Directory Sync add-on becomes $75/mo each from 1 Jan 2027. Neither affects a typical first app.

One tip: only mark an order paid from a webhook

When you ask your builder for checkout, add: "Mark the order as paid only when a Stripe webhook confirms the payment, never from the browser." Otherwise someone can fake a 'paid' order by closing the payment page at the right moment. It is one sentence in your prompt and saves a lot of refunds.

Picker fix: fewer wrong guesses

Our free picker was reading some words too literally. A "book club" or "bookkeeping" app was treated as a booking app that takes payments, and a "personal blog" as a habit tracker. That's fixed, and Lovable apps with live chat now stay on Supabase instead of switching databases.
